Oso Felipe was conceived as a warm, elevated take on California-inspired Mexican dining. Working within a nearly complete renovation and an existing space with a history as an Italian supper club and jazz venue,
Cherin Studio looked for ways to give the restaurant a distinct identity without erasing what came before.

Original wood paneling and sandstone fireplaces were preserved, while earthy tones, natural materials, handmade artwork, and vintage Mexican objects introduced a new visual language. The result is a space grounded in its architecture and filled with the warmth, texture, and character of things collected over time.

Throughout the space, the goal was to create something warm and distinctive without relying on familiar restaurant clichés — a place that felt rooted in its references while remaining contemporary.
