A historic home adapted for contemporary life while preserving the architectural character that made it special.

Home to Cherin Studio founder Megan Cherin, the residence brings together original architectural details, custom millwork, vintage and contemporary furnishings, artwork, and collected objects. The second floor was reconfigured to improve flow and function, while the first floor was furnished and layered around the existing architecture.

Throughout the home, original details — from arched doorways and dentil molding to slate floors and brass hardware — informed the design of every new intervention. Vintage pieces bring history and character, while contemporary elements keep the home firmly in the present.

The result is a home with the curiosity of a museum: filled with art, objects, and unexpected discoveries, but designed to be lived in.
